How VR reshapes the mind
Research meets immersive design
Becoming the other, virtually
From bias to belonging
The Perspective Lab is where science meets experience. This space isn’t a destination, but a framework—built on decades of research in social neuroscience and cyberpsychology. Here, participants explore how immersive technologies can shift perception, reduce bias, and awaken empathy. From racial bias reduction to awe-induced cooperation, the lab invites users to reflect not only on what they see, but how they see.
In this module, immersive design becomes a tool for understanding the self and others. Participants encounter perspective-taking exercises, embodiment simulations, and guided reflections rooted in the latest findings from researchers like Jeremy Bailenson, Domna Banakou, and Mel Slater. Whether stepping into the skin of another or standing in awe before the Earth, users are not passively observing—they’re actively rewiring the emotional and cognitive systems that shape human behavior.
The Perspective Lab challenges the idea that VR is merely visual novelty. Research shows that virtual embodiment—inhabiting another’s body in a first-person experience—can lead to lasting changes in implicit bias and emotional processing. Combined with awe-inspiring environments and co-regulated interaction, this lab becomes a proving ground for real-world impact. Presence here is not just technological—it’s ethical. What we experience shifts who we are.
